The Canadian Alpine Club is doing the same thing. On the other hand the Sydney Bush Walkers complain that their membership grows too rapidly. Apparently clubs always covet what they have not. It would be an interesting subject for an inter-club debate, the question of whether a large or small membership is more desirable.
