 Sixty years ago the National Parks and Primitive Areas Council formulated a proposal for a Greater Blue Mountains National Park stretching from Mount Boonbourwa in the north to the Upper Nattai in the south. It had four divisions, northern, central and southern, and a separate Nattai Park in the south.
